John C. Griffith, age 81, died Sunday, August 6, 2006, at Candler Hospital. The native and lifelong resident of Savannah was a member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church. He retired from the City of Savannah as a Building Superintendent.
Surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Mercer G. and James B. Blackburn of Savannah; sisters-in-law, Jennell Griffith of Savannah and Helen Kelley of Mobile, AL; a daughter-in-law, Anne Cornelius of Mobile, AL; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, with Dr. J. Calvin Webb officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
